Saturday night, Guymon Firefighters were called to a reported structure fire located southeast of Guymon at 3721 Rd. Z. At 9:02pm, Firefighters arrived to find a large commercial building fully involved in fire. Guymon Firefighters immediately requested assistance from Hardesty, Optima, Hooker, and Goodwell Fire Departments.
This location belonged to Seaboard Farms and was currently used as a Finisher Maintenance Office. “At the time of the fire, no one was in the building or on site”, said Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley. Fire crews worked 2 hours to get the fire under control and remained on scene till Sunday afternoon. Estimated loss is $400,000 with cause of the fire under investigation by the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal Office and the Texas County Sheriff Office. No injuries were reported.
