A one vehicle accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:45 pm on K23 at milepost 13.5, 0.8 tenths of a mile east of Road V in Meade County. A 2005 Peterbilt semi being driven by Nathaniel Rosas, 29, of Muleshoe Texas, was traveling Northbound on K23 when he failed to negotiate the turn around Meade Lake. The truck and trailer overturned and slid off into the ditch.

Rosas was taken to the Meade District Hospital with suspected serious injuries. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
