3 Vehicle Accident Injures 2 in Gray County

A 3 vehicle accident occurred Friday morning at approximately 10:58 am half mile west of K23/US56 junction in Gray County. A 2019 Ford Fusion being driven by Minerva Callao Mather, 37, of Meade, and a 2016 Kenworth truck being driven by Felipe Resendiz, 26, of Garden City were traveling westbound on US56. The Fusion was behind the Kenworth. The driver of the Fusion went to pass the Kenworth and cut in too soon hitting the driver front of the semi. The Fusion then went into the north ditch where the driver over corrected and came back onto the highway going left of center and striking a 2019 Chevy Equinox which was being driven by Jolene Faye Koehn, 69 of Montezuma who was eastbound on US56. Both the Fusion and the Equinox came to rest in the south ditch. The Kenworth went into Montezuma to turn around and came back to the scene.

Mather and Koehn sustained minor injuries while Resendiz was not injured.
