The Liberal High School volleyball team has nine wins in the past two years and 18 wins in the last three years. The seniors have had a different head coach in each of the past four years. Katie Garia in 2023, Jelena Cohadarevic in 2024, Lorena Cisneros in 2025, and now Erika Asencio. The Domincan Republic native was an assistant coach last year steps in as head coach. She played college volleyball at Miami-Dade and Western Oklahoma State. Lorena Cisneros was interim head coach last year and is back to the assistant coaching staff this season. Liberal was 5-29 last season and forfeited one of their tournaments. They were 4-30 in 2024 and 9-22 in 2023. Even with the coaching musical chairs and recent struggles, there is optimism going into the season.
There are 32 in the volleyball program with 11 on the varsity, 11 on JV, and 10 on C team.
