USD 480 To Celebrate Outstanding Efforts

KSCB News - August 26, 2011 3:26 pm

USD 480 is proud to recognize the

Outstanding efforts of our entire staff and students by dismissing early

Friday, September 2nd

As you recall last year the district had 4 goals related to student achievement. Three of the 4 goals were met.

  • All students will increase Reading scores on the state assessment by 10%. (This is the only goal we did not reach, but did go up 7.9%)

  • All students will increase math scores on the state assessment by 10%. (We had an increase of 10.6%)

  • ELL students will increase Reading scores on the state assessment by 10%. (We had an increase of 16.9%)

  • ELL students will increase math scores on the state assessment by 10%. (We had an increase of 17.6%)

Here is what will happen on Friday.

  1. All students will be dismissed at Noon

  2. There will be no PM Pre-School or Kindergarten.

  3. Busses will run on the same schedule as a regular day (Schools that dismiss at 3:25 will dismiss bus students at 11:50 and schools that dismiss at 3:35 will dismiss bus students at 12:00)

  4. The cafeteria will provide lunch to all students. It will be a lunch that can be served quickly and without a great deal of clean up.

  5. Once all students are off campus, faculty can leave.

  6. The USD 480 staff is encouraged to attend the Seaboard sponsored lunch at North Blue Bonnet Park. Connie and her staff will provide side dishes and drinks and Seaboard will provide the hot dogs and pork burgers. Staff members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit on so they can relax, eat and visit.

Once again, Congratulations USD 480 staff and students, WAY TO GO! As you can see from the results above, your hard work definitely paid off. Keep up the good work, continue your efforts and you will continue to see the positive impact on student achievement.
