Tournament Time Again in Liberal

Liberal hosts the Senior Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament for the second consecutive year. Playing in 106 degree temperatures, two games have gone final. Columbus routed Salina 14-4 in six innings and Lakin took care of Haysville 11-1 in six. Junction City faces Coffeyville at about 4:45 and Liberal’s game against defending state champ Wellington is scheduled for 7 p.m. after the opening ceremonies. Columbus plays at 1 p.m. Saturday against Lakin and Salina faces Haysville at 9 a.m. Saturday.
