Skins Foiled Again in First Round at Salina

For the third consecutive season the Liberal Redskins have lost in the first round of the Salina invitational tournament. The Buhler Crusaders outpaced  the Redskins 48-37 Thursday night at Salina Central High School.

Buoyed by Wichita North transfer Kace Vongsokda playing in his first game, the Redskins jumped to early leads of 6-0 and 9-3. The Skins led 14-7 after one quarter and 19-16 at halftime. Buhler jumped all over LHS in the third quarter at a 21-9 clip. Liberal cut the lead to 39-36 with a deep Cameron Riley three, but never drew closer.

Vongsakda had 17 in the loss. Riley had eight.

The Redskins are 3-7 and the Crusaders are 7-3. Liberal plays Friday night at 8:15 against the Concordia Panthers at Salina Central High School. Redskin Pregame begins at 8 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
