Seward Spikers Runner Up at Region 6

KSCB News - November 8, 2010 12:00 am

Seward and Barton split Sunday. But that was all Barton needed to win the Region 6 volleyball championship. Seward finishes as runner up after a 3-2 weekend at the Region 6 Tournament at Newman University in Wichita. After winning their match over Dodge City Friday, Seward lost Saturday to Barton (25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 13-25, 15-17). Seward stayed alive Saturday night by beating Jayhawk West champ Pratt (20-25, 17-25, 25-21, 27-25, 15-11). That set up Sunday’s championship with Barton. Seward took the first match (20-25, 25-17, 27-25, 14-25, 15-13) to set up one final Region 6 championship. The Saints ran out of gas and lost to Barton (15-25, 18-25, 7-25).

Seward finishes 23-18 overall after a third place finish in the Jayhawk West and a runner up finish in the region.
