Seward Sinks Snow in NJCAA Volleyball Opener

Seward began their seventh NJCAA Volleyball Tournament with an emphatic win.  Seward smoked Snow College, Utah 3-0 Thursday morning in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.  The Saints won 25-10, 25-16, 26-24.  SCCC trailed the last set 15-11 and 24-22 before rallying to win.

Seward shot .346 while Snow hit .089.  Giovanna Tapigliani had 11 kills and seven digs while Djuly Schmorantz had 10 kills and eight digs.  Laura De Pra had 27 assits.  De Pra and Nathiellen Machado had nine digs a piece.

The win moves Seward to the quarterfinals to face 22-6 Polk State, Florida Thursday night at 5:30.  Polk beat Wallace State, Alabama 3-1.  Seward is 31-5 on the season.
