Saints Shock #23 Port Arthur

KSCB News - January 2, 2013 6:45 am

The Seward County Saints brought home an impressive 70-62 win over #23Lamar State-Port Arthur Tuesday afternoon in Port Arthur. It’s Seward’s second win over a ranked team this season. Seward built a healthy 40-26 halftime lead and had to finish the game on an 8-0 run to hold off the Seahawks.

Jabari Peters poured in a career high 27 points in the win. Jerry Cobb added 10 points and six rebounds. Leslee Smith pulled down 13 rebounds. The Saints (9-5) made 41 percent of their shots and were 4-14 from three point range. That’s one day after shooting 31 percent in a loss to Mineral Area.

The Saints host Barton Saturday night to open defense of back to back Jayhawk West championships. The men’s game tips at 8 after the 6 p.m. women’s game. The games will air on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
