Saints Heavenly at Cloud

Seward made their new bats sing Friday afternoon in a double header sweep at Cloud. Seward claimed the first game 16-2 in five innings and won game two 6-5. In game one, the Saints pounded out 19 hits and scored nine in the second inning. Logan Hall (2-1-1) went the distance on the mound allowing just four hits. Willie Gustin was 3-5 with two RBI’s, Jordan Dallalio went 3-4 with a homer and four RBI’s, Jake Barrios was 3-3 with a double and two RBI’s, J.T. Bean was 3-4 with a double and three RBI’s, and Ben Wainright was 3-4 with three doubles and three RBI’s. Dillon Bryant was 2-3 with and RBI and Tyler Hill scored three runs.

In game two, Gavin Glanz went five innings and left with the lead. Cloud tied the game in the seventh. Tyler Hill was 2-4 with two RBI’s. Austin Beisel (3-1) got the win on the mound. Seward is 12-8 overall and 4-2 in the Jayhawk West while the Thunderbirds fall to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the Jayhawk West. The two teams play another double header Saturday at 1 p.m. in Concordia. Paul Pulley gets the ball in game one flanked by Jose Gonzalez in game two. Galen McSpadden now has 998 wins in his career as Seward head baseball coach.

The Saints are still playing without three injured starters. Steven Polito, Jon Mestas, and Kyle Henke are still out of the lineup.
