Only 4 Days Left To Sign Up For Pancake Day Races

KSCB News - February 17, 2014 8:03 am

Only four days remain to sign up as contestants for Pancake Day races. So far the International Race has four contestants: veteran racer Tessy Barnett, 40; newcomer Hannah Belton, 23; Brooke Buchman, 27,who ran in 2004 and 2005; and first-timer Sandra Nash, 25. Eight have entered the Men’s Race: Joe Denoyer, Justin Alexander, Joshua Maestas, Cruz Eatmon, and Hayden Akens, Alejandro Avila, Tyson McGuire, and Emery Swagerty. Space remains in most categories for ages three-18, but the four-year-old girls’ category is full.

The Rec Center is closed Monday for Presidents’ Day, but sign-ups for all racers for the 65th International Pancake Day, which is Mar. 4, will resume Tuesday and continue through Feb. 21 at the Liberal Recreation Center, 1109 W. 7th St. (in Blue Bonnet Park). These sign-ups are for all races and all age groups, except for the Parks and Rec Pancake Chase.
The number of contestants in each race is limited to 15, and a category will be closed once that limit is reached. There is no entry fee. No late sign-ups will be accepted.
