Whaneeta “Maxine” Hays, 82 died March 16, 2018 in rural Beaver County, Oklahoma.
She was born on September 18, 1935 in Sidney, Nebraska, the daughter of Evan and Ethel (Davis) Stines. She was the youngest of 12 siblings.

She attended high school in Potter, Nebraska. On October 24, 1959, she married Richard Hays in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Richard passed on July 18, 2007.

Maxine enjoyed bowling, golfing, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma and GiGi

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 11 brothers and sisters, and 1 son, Michael Hays. She went to join the lord with her son, Gregory Montgomery.

The family will be present to greet friends in fellowship on Thursday, March 29 from 6-8pm at the Brenneman Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Friday, March 30, at 2:00pm at the Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Terry Engler presiding. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital or the Grant County Community Foundation, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W 2nd St., Liberal, KS 67901.
