Helen M. Borth, age 93, passed away early Saturday morning, September 10, 2016, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.
She was born January 4, 1923, at Plains, Kansas, the daughter of Peter and Emma (Basgal) Kisner.  As a young girl, she attended the Plains school system, graduating from Plains High School.  Upon her graduation she attended a secretarial college and began working for the Rock Island Railroad as  a secretary for six years.
On April 26, 1948, she married James Howard Borth.  After their marriage, the couple made their home in rural Meade County where they farmed for many years.
She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade.  She enjoyed floral gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by:

                                                James R. Borth and wife Dianne of Olathe, Kansas
                                                Susan Graham and husband Jon of Gainsville, Florida
                                                Jerry O. Borth and wife Dana of Plains, Kansas
                                                John D. Borth and wife Ginger of rural Meade, Kansas
                                                Jay A. Borth and wife Cara of rural Plains, Kansas
Fourteen grandchildren                        Four great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by a brother, John Kisner, and five sisters, Ruth Batman, Sister Rosalin, Mary Hedlesky, Esther Dunn-Benish, and Sister Madeline.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.   Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday.  Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery, Plains.
In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
