Kauffman a guest on B107.5 Tuesday
07/01/2009

courtesy of Gale Rose Miss Yellow Brick Road and Miss Liberal 2007 Shameem Kauffman (center) is awarded for evening wear Friday night at the Miss Kansas Competition in Pratt.

Shameem Kauffman who is a former Miss Liberal and is currently Miss Yellow Brick Road was a guest on B107.5 Tuesday afternoon by phone from her Hollywood, California apartment.

A variety of topics were discussed including Kauffman's third straight top ten finish at the Miss Kansas pageant which took place a few weeks ago. Kauffman talked about her platform of improving childhood obesity, and about taking home the evening gown award. She said that part was exciting since she had never won one of the main categories at Miss Kansas before.

Other topics discussed were the Miss California controversy, and the death of Michael Jackson. Kauffman said the atmosphere in Los Angeles right now is "crazy." She said there are people everywhere lined up blaring Jackson's music in the streets and people on the streets trying to sell Jackson's CD's and t-shirts.

When it comes to celebrity spottings, Kauffman says she sees a celebrity at least once a week. The cast of 'High School Musical' even came into the restaurant Kauffman works at once.

Kauffman said she made the move to Hollywood to pursue a career in professional dancing and is currently enrolled in a full-time dance school to pursue that dream.
