Moscow Makes State for Third Straight Year and Stanton County Wins Satanta Softball Regional

The Moscow Wildcats will be one of the more expereienced state tournament teams May 29-31st in Emporia. The 22-0 Wildcats will be making their third straight appearance at 2-a state. Moscow topped Elkhart 4-0 in Elkhart Tuesday to win their third straight regional title. Elkhart finishes 12-10 after they defeated Sublette 2-0 to advance to the meeting with MHS. Moscow beat Leoti 12-0 to advance to the final. Last year, Moscow beat Canton-Galva 7-2 and lost to St. Mary's 10-3 in the second round. Two years ago, Moscow topped Spearville 8-7 in eight innings before falling to Howard-West Elk 12-9 and St. Mary's 22-8 in the third place game.

In 2-a softball at Satanta, Stanton County won the regional with a 5-1 win over Elkhart. The 16-6 Trojans also beat Satanta 12-2 in the semifinals yesterday. Elkhart defeated Sublette 16-1 to advance to the finals. The Wildcats finish 6-12.
