Yucca Ridge Results
04/26/2011

Yucca Ridge Golf Club marked the beginning of its tournament season this past weekend.  On Saturday Yucca Ridge held its annual "Tin Man Tune-up" tournament.   Named after the infamous Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, the tournament is designed to knock that winter rust and dust off and get people out to enjoy the spring weather.  There was a good turnout for this two-person scramble format played over eighteen holes.

The team of the day was Kyle Weber and Josh Costillo of Liberal shooting a four under par 66 to take first place in the event.  "Four under par is a really good score out here for just two guys.  They played very well," Supt Trent Kitch commented.  Second place went to Tyler Brungardt and Conner Warren, both of Liberal, shooting a two under par 68.  Third place in the event went to Chet Oblander and Scott Gaines of Guymon who shot an even par 70 on the day.

Superintendent Trent Kitch was impressed with the showing.  "We had a great turnout.  It's nice to see this many people show their support and come out for our first event of the year.  We had several out for the first time and even had two teams come up from Guymon to play."

The next event at Yucca Ridge will be their first ever "Spring Poker Run" on Saturday May 21st.  This will be a modified four-person, best ball event.  For any information about golf at Yucca Ridge or questions about tournaments call Kitch at 482-0243 or call the office at 624-GOLF.
