Lady Saints Tennis Remain in 20th at Nationals
05/06/2009

Day three of the 2009 NJCAA National Tennis Tournament didn’t go so well for the gals in green. The Lady Saints went 0-5 Tuesday but still set in the top 20 in the standings after three days of play. Fabiola Wisnsesky lost 8-0 in the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket to end her tournament while Valerie Stevens fell in that same round 8-4. Seward didn’t fare a whole lot better in doubles action as Wisnesky and Stevens dropped their sweet 16 match 6-1, 6-1 to 3rd ranked Abraham Baldwin CC while Juliana Boas and Alyssa Larson lost an epic battle in the consolation quarterfinals to Barton County 9-8 to end their tournament. Anitgone Lowery and Sylvia Perez teamed up in the #3 doubles and also fell to Abraham Baldwin 8-0 in the consolation bracket. The Lady Saints sit in 20th place with 8.5 points after day 3 and presumably have no chance for advancement past that place with no players left in the tournament.
