Kaela Krueger New Miss Liberal

7 contestants competed Sunday afternoon for over $7500.00 in shcolarships during the annual Miss Liberal Pageant. The annual event is a part of the Miss America program and was hosted by Chris Jewell, current Miss Liberal, Shenice Morton, and the reigning Miss Kansas Lauren Werhan. Crowned the new Miss Liberal, in front of a packed James Maskus Auditorium, was Liberal High School senior, Kaela Krueger. Kaela also won the Lifestyles and Fitness in Swimwear competition, the Artistic Expression in Talent competition, and the Presence and Poise in Evening Wear competition. Ms. Krueger was also awarded a $200.00 Development Foundation Scholarship for a total of $2,550.00 in shcolarship money plus a $500.00 clothing allowance. 1st runner-up was SCCC/ATS freshman Kelsi Moree, who also won a Development Foundation Scholarsip of $200.00, the $500.00 Adrienne Rosel "Quality Of Life" walked away with $2000.00 in scholaship money. 2nd runner-up went to Giovanna Baca and 3rd runner-up went to Megan Parmenter. Megan also was in a three way tie with Makaytlen Plunk and Kesli Oyler for Miss Congeniality. All three received $100.00 for Miss Congeniality. Kaela Krueger will represent Miss Liberal in the Miss Kansas Pageant in Pratt, in June. Kaela will be a guest on Talk Radio 1270's "Live From Broadcast Square" on Monday.
