A Republican icon and a former Democratic U.S. senator will share the stage in Salina this week. Former GOP U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Democratic former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley will be the speakers Friday at the Salina Chamber of Commerce annual meeting. Gingrich and Bradley will each deliver a talk and then take questions from the audience. Bradley was a senator from New Jersey from 1979 to 1997, and a candidate for president in the 2000 race. Gingrich served in the U.S. House for 20 years and was Speaker from 1995 to 1999. Political observers believe he is considering a run for president in 2012.
