Revised Kan. crop estimates predict fall bounty
Newly revised estimates are predicting the
second largest Kansas corn crop on record.
Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service has lowered its corn
forecast by 1 percent from a month ago but still predicts a
bountiful crop of 580.5 million bushels. That would be 3 percent
below last year's record harvest.
Tuesday's report forecasts total soybean production in Kansas at
136 million bushels. That's down 6 percent from last month's
estimate would be still be the second highest on record.
The sorghum forecast remained unchanged at 171.6 million
