Wild West Heritage Foundation Opens Walk of Fame

The Wild West Heritage Foundation unveiled the Wild West Walk of Fame today in a ceremony honoring the inductees to the Exhibit.  The newest addition to the Buffalo and Longhorn Exhibit features eleven inductees that range from Hollywood stars to local icons.  Visitors can see the hand and boot prints of these inductees featured around the Exhibit.

 

“After completing our first project, we decided we needed a way to honor those people who have been dedicated to our common goal of preserving our wild west heritage,” said Ryan Deutsch, President of the Wild West Heritage Foundation. 

 

The 2014 Walk of Fame inductees are:

 

Mr. Buck Taylor, Actor

Best Known for his role as Newly O’Brien in Gunsmoke

 

Mr. Johnny Crawford, Actor

Rose to fame playing Mark McCain in The Rifleman

 

 

John Lehr & Nancy Hower, Actor & Writers

Co-Created Hulu’s comedy series, Quick Draw

 

Jule Hazen, Professional Steer Wrestler

Ashland, Kansas

 

Boyd Polhamus, Rodeo Announcer

PRCA Announcer of the Year (2007, 2008, 2009, and 2012)

 

Harry Vold, Rodeo Stock Contractor

11-Time PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year

 

Justin Rumford, Rodeo Clown

PRCA Clown of the Year (2012, 2013)

 

Marshal Brent Harris, Local Icon

Heart and soul of Boot Hill and the “face of Dodge City”

 

Marshal Allen Bailey, Local Icon

Much sought-after emcee and member of Partners of the Prairie
