Where it says that conferences will be based on need, does that mean that USD 480 no longer wants parents in the halls of the middle schools or high school? Many of us are in actively involved with our childs education. We stress the importance of it and to show respect to the ones that are doing their best to educate the students. Are we allowed to just go to the above mentioned schools and talk to all of our childrens teachers, or do we have to try to make appointments now to talk to them? If it is the latter, many parents may no longer be active in their childrens education. Why? Because the district wouldnt want the parents meeting the teachers. Please, correct me if I am wrong. At conference time, I have always enjoyed being able to go to the schools and talk with every teacher. Yes, I may have had to wait, but I didnt mind.
