Sutton Stymies Redskin Bats in Hugoton Win
03/20/2013

Hugoton took care of a young and pesky Liberal team 10-4 Tuesday at the Liberal Baseball Complex.  The Eagles led 4-2 going to the seventh before the Eagles put up six runs in the seventh to blow a tight game open.

Yates Sutton pitched six innings of one hit ball with nine strikeouts for the win.  Reid Davis was 4-5 with an inside the park homerun while Alfredo Licon and Nick Frederick were both 3-5.

Hugoton scored two in the second and one in the third before adding one in the sixth.  Liberal did a good job of pitching out of jams and scored two runs of their own when Law Greiner laced a two RBI double to right center in the sixth to make it 4-2.

Hugoton out-hit Liberal 15-1 and both teams committed three errors a piece.

The same two teams meet at Hugoton Friday at 4 p.m.
