Seward's Avila is KJCCC Player of the Week

  Sometimes you hear the expression in the game of
basketball 'it's like he couldn't miss', well Seward County sophomore
Edson Avila felt that way this week, shooting 84% from the field in two
marquee games before being named the KJCCC Player of the Week by the
league on Tuesday.  Avila was about as good as he could have been this
week as the Saints took on a brutal Jayhawk West Conference road
schedule at #1 Hutchinson and at #19 Barton.  Wednesday against the
Dragons, Avila kept Seward in the game, going a perfect 9 for 9 from the
field, good for 20 points against the nations #1 team while also
grabbing a team high 8 rebounds.  Saturday Avila was equally as good in
the Saints 71-60 upset win over #19 Barton, scoring 16 points on 7 of 10
shooting and pulling down 5 boards.  On the week he averaged 18 points
and 6.5 rebounds per game while going 16-19 from the field.
