Saints Pull Away in Second Half to Defeat Cloud
01/17/2010

The Seward County Saints men's basketball team found themselves in a tight one with Cloud County on Saturday night at the Green House. The Saints outscored the Thunderbirds 42-29 in the second half though to cruise to an 80-66 victory.

Tony Smith helped lead the way scoring 23 points. Marky Nolen and Donte McCarter each scored 13, while Marcus James had 12. Latiq Agard added 11.

Both teams combined for 30 turnovers in the game. Saints head coach Bryan Zollinger said that he wasn't pleased with anyone's play in the game and that they plan on focusing on playing better defense for their next game.

Cloud drops to 8-9 overall, and 1-3 in the Jayhawk League. The Saints improve to 14-3 overall, and 4-0 in the league.

Seward will play at Colby on Monday at 8 p.m. The game will air on B107 FM and kscb.net.
