NLRB Sets National Beef Union Vote

DODGE CITY, Kan. (AP) - Workers at the National Beef packing

plant in Dodge City will vote next month on whether to unionize.

The National Labor Relations Board has set Jan. 21 and 22 as the

dates for the union vote. Results are expected to be known sometime

on Jan. 23.

The voting unit mainly includes employees in production and

maintenance, shipping and receiving, plant clericals,

groundskeeping and warehouse.

National Beef says about 2,600 workers are in the voting unit.
