Lady Skins Work Overtime in Win Over Guymon
12/09/2009

Liberal head girls basketball coach Shane Stout summed it up. "That was a lot of fun," the fourth year LHS head coach said after Liberal's 53-51 ovetime win over 3-2 Guymon Tuesday night in Guymon. Justice Norah hit two free throws with .5 seconds left to give LHS the win and give the super sophomore 25 points and 66 in three games. Stouts says that was competition at its' finest. "At times you get frustrated with all these practices. You have 14 or 15 practices before that first weekend and it feels like a grind. The kids are getting home late and we're (coaches) getting home late and you think why are we doing this? Games like today are the reason people get into athletics." Malyssa Williams dropped in 13 points as Liberal improves to 2-1. Guymon jumped out to three nine point leads in the first half (15-6, 19-10, and 21-12). But the Lady Red went on a 13-0 run to finish the first half and lead 25-21 at halftime. Liberal built an eight point lead in the third quarter at 33-25 before Guymon went on a 16-4 run. The game was tied at 46 at the end of regulation. Liberal hosts Hereford Friday at 6 PM and Dumas Saturday at 4 PM on Talkradio 1270.
