The kids had to like what they saw.  Seward County controlled Cloud County Wednesday night 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-16) in the Green House on Kids Inc. Night.  All of the Kids Inc. volleyball teams were able to run the court and be recognized Wednesday night as the Saints took care of Cloud.

Seward is 5-0 at home and 10-11 overall while last place Cloud is 0-7 in the Jayhawk West and 3-13 overall.

Seward hosts the Oz Fest Classic Friday and Saturday.  The Saints face Vernon at 11 Friday morning before a 7 p.m. first serve against #12 Western Texas.

There are more Seward connections this weekend.  Former Seward basketball player Doug Bird coaches Seminole State who will attend the tournament.  Phooey Yang coaches Frank Phillips.  The China native was dominant at Seward as a player.  Yang was named the Jayhawk West Conference Most Valuable Player and Freshman of the Year, becoming the only player in Seward Community College history to earn both honors during a career. The dominating outside hitter also received First Team NJCAA D-I All-Region VI and First Team Jayhawk West All-Conference. On two occasions Yang received Region VI Player of the Week. Once she was named the NJCAA Player of the Week, and she was named to four All-Tournament teams, including receiving the Tournament Most Valuable Player at the Midland College Tournament.
