Beaver's Rivera and Guymon's Williams Star in Classic Bowl Win

KSCB listening area players played a major role in the West's 10-7 win in an all star football game in Woodward Saturday night.  Beaver's David Rivera and Guymon's Alan Williams were named co MVP's in the game. 

With the score tied at 7 with 3;00 to play, Rivera picked off a pass and returned it 20 yards to the 19.  After an apparent touchdown Turpin's Matt Mendoza, the West seemed to have the game in control.  But the touchdown was called off due to a penalty.  But David Rivera came to the West's rescue again kicking a 23 yard game winning field goal.  The Woodward Daily News described Guymon's Williams as a force on defense all night.  Meade's Adrian Pfannensteil and Forgan's Tanner Jones also picked off a passes. 

Other area athletes include Bram Abbott of Liberal, Ben Clubb of Balko, Roy Alvarado of Hooker, Weston Kroth of Meade, Nick Borth of Meade. and Luis Rivera of Beaver.  Turpin's Mario Mendoza helped coach the West.

In basketball, area athletes included Gunner Cordes of Meade, Alex Sanchez of Hooker, Rhett and Ryan Radcliff of Forgan, Brady Burdick of Balko, and Bradley Kinser of Turpin. 

In girls basketball, area athletes included, Tatem Hansen of Meade, Nicole Franz of Balko, Trista Jaramillo of Tyrone, Kelsie Stephens of Balko, Jayme Walton of Hooker, Payton Robinson of Turpin, and Sara Frederick of Beaver.
