Memorial Hospital Of Texas County Hires New CEO

The Board of Control of Memorial Hospital of Texas County met last night to discuss the amendment to the Board of Control bylaws and the hiring of Chief Executive Officer Lee Hughes.
The board voted and approved on the amendment of Section 2.2 Number and Qualifications of the Board of Control Bylaws as presented. This amendment allows board members to serve an unlimited amount of four year terms.
�??In other words this will revert back to how it used to be,�?� said John Nye. �??It was the County Commissioners�?? call to determine the number of board members, and it is the Board of Control�??s call to determine the limits or lack of limits for this board.�?�
The agenda for the meeting stated that the board would go into Executive Session regarding the consideration and vote for Chief Executive Officers. Instead, the board members just went straight to the vote and approval.
�??Being no reason for Executive Session, we will move on to item sixteen,�?� said Nye.
The board proceeded by voting and approving the hiring of Lee Hughes as Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Hospital.
