Man Dies In Grain Elevator Accident in Liberal

On Friday, October 29, 2010, at about 10:04 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the Perryton Equity Exchange for a report of a worker that fell from the elevator. Emergency responders located the man near the grain elevators closest to Pershing Avenue. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the 27 year old man was working with a fumigation company from Salina. The crew was preparing to start fumigating the elevators when he apparently fell. Investigators are working to determine the how the man fell.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, November 1st. The man ??s identity is not being released at this time pending notification of his family.
