KDOT Road Project To Begin In Grant County

KSCB News - May 1, 2015 8:17 am

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a resurfacing project on K-25 in northern Grant County to begin by Tuesday, May 5, weather permitting. The project runs from the north city limits of Ulysses to the Grant/Kearny county line. The mill and overlay project includes widening the pavement two feet on each side.

During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The Kansas DOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor at a cost of approximately $1.9 million. KDOT expects work on this project to be completed by mid-June, depending on weather.

If you have questions on this project, you can call Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at 620-624-4451 or Kirk Hutchinson, KDOT Southwest Public Affairs Manager, at 1-877-550-5368 (toll free).

You can stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas at www.kandrive.org or by calling 5-1-1.
