Jayhawk League Commish Rules in Bee Jays Favor

KSCB News - July 16, 2009 12:00 am

The Jayhawk League Commissioner informed the Liberal Bee Jays Thursday morning that their game against the Dodge City A’s Tuesday is an official game.

The ruling gives the Bee Jays an 8-2 victory. The game originally was suspended in the top of the eighth inning due to lighting and was set to resume on July 26 in Dodge. The Bee Jays were told that by rule the game could not be called official.

However, after further checking by the Bee Jays Board of Directors on Wednesday of the Jayhawk League rule book the Bee Jays felt by rule that the game should be official. They then contacted the Commissioner to ask him to make a ruling on the matter. The Commish agreed with Liberal awarding them the victory.

Logan Odom now officially earns the win going seven innings giving up just two runs. One of them was unearned. Bryce Baugh led Liberal at the plate going 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBI’s.

Dodge City drops to 3-19 in the Jayhawk League. The Bee Jays improve to 11-13 in the league.
