Hugoton Hands Liberal Another Loss

KSCB News - March 22, 2013 7:08 am

Liberal’s young hitters are trying to find their way. After one hit against Hugoton Tuesday in Liberal, the Skins mustered just three hits Thursday in Hugoton in a 10-2 Hugoton win. Ross Davis went the distance striking out six. Michael Baeza, Nick Frederick, and Reid Davis had two hits a piece for the 2-0 Eagles.

Hugoton got off to a strong start scoring five in the first. Liberal’s Brandyn Terrazas hit a two run homer to make it 5-2 in the fourth. But the Eagles added two in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Liberal’s Edwin Pineda held Hugoton in check out of the bullpen going three and one-third innings without allowing an earned run. The Liberal pitching staff struggled with control again walking eight and Liberal committed two errors.

Liberal plays at Ulysses Tuesday at 4 p.m.
