Former BJ Pence Named to All Star Team

For the second time in three years, former Bee Jays Hunter Pence is a Major League Baseball all star. The Arlington, Texas native who used to work on the field at Brent Gould Field for a summer job was named the the MLB all star team Sunday. The Houston Astro outfielder is batting .325 with 10 homeruns and 57 RBI’s after July 4. Pence was selected to the 2009 all star game but did not play. Pence enjoyed a 23 game hitting streak earlier this season.

Pence played left field for Mike Davidson on the 2003 Bee Jay team which went 22-18. Pence also played for former BJ and Saint coach and player Darrin Thomas at Texas-Arlington.
