Donations Come In For The Seward County United Way

Pat and Stu Emmert, of Stu Emmert’s Automotive Center , of presented a $2,500 check to Alicia Bird, a member of the 50th Anniversary Campaign Committee for the Seward County United Way. The local donation will be matched by Toyota so that the total gift will be $5,000. “This was a terrific surprise,” said Bird, “it was an unexpected and wonderful gift to our 2012 Campaign.

Also, George Roldan, owner of the two Liberal McDonalds Restaurants, presented a
$1,000 check to Alicia Bird, a member of the 50th Anniversary Campaign
Committee for the Seward County United Way. McDonald’s hosted an "Eat Out
for United Way" event and split the proceeds of a Friday night with United
Way. The United Way was slated to receive 15 percent of the sales, but
"George Roldan generously increased the donation to $1,000 and we are truly
grateful," said Bird. "It takes strong partners to have a successful United
Way campaign and we’re lucky to have people like George on our team." The
local United Way campaign is currently at 30 percent of its $325,000 goal.
