AMARILLO, Texas (AP) – The two survivors of a two-vehicle Texas Panhandle traffic accident that killed five members of summer musical production are still in the hospital.

A spokesman for Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo says Timothy Johnson of Houston remained in critical condition Wednesday.

The actor was riding in a car carrying six members of the musical "Texas" that was in a wreck late Monday near Dumas (DOO’-mus). The other five people were killed.

The driver of the 18-wheeler that hit the car, Theron Arthur McSay of Fort Collins, Colo., remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The Department of Public Safety says the car pulled in front of the truck.

Organizers of the musical canceled performances Tuesday and Wednesday. Shows are scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday to wrap up the 2013 season.
