Bee Jays Drop Another to El Dorado

The Liberal Bee Jays are off to their second straight 0-2 start as they lost 9-6 Friday to El Dorado at Brent Gould Field. Liberal fell behind early 4-0, but rallied back to take a 5-4 lead in the sixth off of a Steven Tucker two RBI triple and a two run home run by Justin Gordey. However, the Broncos rallied back to tie the game with one run in the seventh and four runs in the eighth. Liberal added a run in the ninth but it was to little to late. Don Lisi who pitched for the Bee Jays last year got the start and earned a no decision. Logan Odom got the loss in relief for the Jays. Liberal also had three errors defensively. Offensively the Bee Jays were led by Justin Gordey who went 3-4 from the plate with the two run homer and two singles. Tucker had two RBI’s while Aaron Mees and Tanner Rindels each added an RBI in the loss. The Bee Jays will play El Dorado again tonight and tomorrow night with first pitch set for 7 p.m. The buyout sponsor for tonight’s game will be Billy’s. They will be giving away sandwiches to the first 100 people who arrive to the ballpark. National Beef will be Sunday’s buyout sponsor. They will be cooking free hamburgers for the fans in attendance. Both games can also be heard on Talkradio 1270 and kscb.net with the dugout show beginning at 6:45 both nights.
