Beauregard Scores 40 in Loss at Dodge City

Brock Kappelmann - February 26, 2017 8:37 am

Thaydeus Holden, Tony Slaughter, Keoni Watson, and now Charles Beauregard.  They are the only Saints to have scored 40 or more in a game.  Charles scored 40 Saturday afternoon in the new Dodge City Activity Center.  It wasn’t enough as the third place Conquistadors beat the Saints 80-70.  Seward played for a third consecutive game with six players.

Much like the game in Colby on Wednesday, Seward trailed at the half and outscored their opponents in the second half.  The Conqs led 46-29 at the half and Seward outscored DC3 41-34 in the second half.  Bryan Zollinger said after the game that he was proud of his team’s effort.

Seward shot 40 percent and made 4-18 from three while going 16-19 at the foul line.  Dodge City made 49 percent from the field while going 9-26 from three and 9-12 at the line.  Seward out rebounded the Conqs 38-33.  Martavious Wilson shrugged off foul trouble for 13 points and nine rebounds for his third straight double digit scoring game.

Seward falls to 8-21 overall and 5-20 in the Jayhawk Conference.  Dodge City is 20-9 and 17-8 in the KJCCC.  The Saints play in the Green House for the final time Monday night at 8 against Garden City.  The game airs on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.  Bank of Beaver City is the buyout.  Sophomore Recognition will be in between games.
