Abilene Edges Lady Skins

The Liberal Lady Redskin comeback attempt fell just short Thursday afternoon. Abilene, the two seed at the Salina Invitational, held off seven seed Liberal at Salina Central. Abilene built an 18 point lead before LHS rallied and cut the Cowgirl lead to two but couldn’t get over the hump. Jada Mickens led Liberal with 12 while Megan Besecker and Ali Lucero dropped in 11 a piece. LHS plays Friday at 6:30 in the Salina Bicentennial Center. LHS is 2-7.
