A One Vehicle Accident Claims The Life Of A Kismet Teen

A one vehicle rollover accident early this morning has claimed the life of a Kismet teen. At 4:50am this morning, 19 year old Denton Shepherd, was eastbound on US64, eight miles west of Alva Oklahoma, when his 2004 Dodge Ram pick up, ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle travelled 300 feet off the road, when it struck a culvert. Shepherds pick up then went airborne for 35 feet across a private drive, landed on its top, and then slid another 35 feet. Shepherd was pinned in the vehicle for 55 minutes. Denton Shepherd was pronounced dead at the scene of head and neck injuries. Seatbelts were in use in the vehicle. This accident was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with assistance from the Alva EMS, Alva, Fire, and Woods County.
