The Liberal cross country team is ready to open their season.  They have been training since June 1st and most LHS harriers didn’t miss many days during the summer.  Joe Denoyer stepped in as head coach and quickly taught his team how to get to work.  Thursday the season begins at Great Bend.

There are 24 runners out for cross country.  There are 13 girls and 11 boys.  It is a very young team with a third different head coach in three years.  There is one senior boy and two senior girls.  The boys were last in the WAC last year and the girls were 4th.

The varsity boys to begin the season are: Jr. Caleb Zamora, So. Easton Martinez, So. Piero Huaman Orgeda, Jr. Abel Gomez, Jr. Brandon Ailon, So. J’Kobe Contreras, Jr. Cain Ortiez, Sr. Tanner Denoyer, and So. Elian Escobar.

The varsity girls to begin the season are: Sr. Sophia Lucena, Sr. Rubi Alvarez, So. Alondra Gonzalez, Fr. Valeria Ontiveros, Jr. Jhovanna Cruz, Fr. Sophia Mercado, and So. Julieana Hernandez.
