Several departments, businesses, and medical offices participated in Southwest Medical Centers sponsored “Think Pink” challenge. Participants were encouraged to decorate their respective facilities in creative and unique ways to bring, and keep, breast cancer awareness, to their patrons and to the community during the month of October, the month nationally recognized as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. The winners in each category are as follows:

Department winners at Southwest Medical Center:

1st place – Tie – Radiology and O.B.

3rd place – Plant Operations

Local Businesses:

1st place – Golden Plains Credit Union

2nd place – Sunflower Bank

3rd Place – Liberal Springs

Medical Offices:

1st place – Dr. Lucero

2nd place – Kinook Medical Clinic

3rd place – OBGYN and Associates

According to hospital personnel, the event has grown in number of participants since its inception, and they are looking forward to next years event, with the ultimate goal continued awareness and eventual eradication of breast cancer.
