Texas County Getting Ready For June 26th Elections

Residents of Texas County will be gearing up for the upcoming primary election that is scheduled for June 26, 2012, said La Fonda F. Limon, Secretary of the Texas County Election Board. New voters who wish to vote in this election must have their application submitted to the Texas County Election Board by June 1, 2012.
Any applications received after this date cannot be processed until after the Primary Election.
Who can register to vote? In order to register to vote in Oklahoma, a person must meet the following criteria: the potential voter must be at least 18 years of age, must be a United States citizen and a resident of the state of Oklahoma.
For those that may be a convicted felon, by law, you may not register for a period of time equal to the time of the original sentence. A convicted felon who has been pardoned may, however, register.
Applications can be picked up at various locations: your local tag agency, the Texas County election board which is located at 301 N. Main St. (Courthouse Annex), in Guymon or on the Internet at www.elections.ok.gov just to name a few.
Persons who wish to vote through the mail must have their absentee application on file no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 20.
This election is open to voters who are registered as either Democrat or Republican. Current registered voters of Texas County who wish to change the political affiliation, may submit their applications to the Texas County Election Board, however, those changes cannot become effective until the 01st September 2012 according to law.
