Teachers Vote in Favor of New Contract

KSCB News - October 7, 2010 12:00 am

U.S.D 480 teachers finally have a new contract. Teachers voted Wednesday 177-61 to accept a new agreement between the district and the LNEA. The contract calls for 185 work days this year and 188 work days next school year and subsequent years. First year teachers have three more days of service. The base salary will be $37,449.00. The base salary next year will be $38,152.00. Over 2.2 million dollars will be placed in the insurance pool for this year. The school board will provide the LNEA with a written notice for the health insurance premiums for next year. After receiving the notice, the LNEA would have 20 days to request that negotiations re-open but only to request more money for the health insurance pool. All other issues in the agreement will stand for this school year and next school year. You can view the full agreement at usd480.net.
