Superintendent Vernon Welch Retirement Reception Set for Sunday

The USD 480 Board of Education is inviting the public to a come-and-go retirement reception for outgoing Superintendent Vernon Welch on Sunday at Cottonwood Intermediate School.

The reception will go from 2-4 p.m. with the board making a special presentation at 3 p.m.

Welc s service to the district has spanned 23 years, including stints as Assistant Principal at Liberal High School and Principal at South Junior High School. Welc s service to USD 480 was interrupted only when he held the position of Superintendent at USD 483 from 1989 to 2000.
