Joe Denoyer - May 6, 2019 10:46 pm

USD 480

The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening and enjoyed refreshments served by workers from the “Cottonwood Cafe” – a school business managed by current 5th-grade students sponsored by Mrs. Petty.  The Redesign teams from Cottonwood, Sunflower, and Seymour Rogers shared the anticipated changes to their schools beginning next school year and the new opportunities that will be in place for students in the areas of student success skills, personalized learning, real-world application, and community partnerships.

In new business, the BOE approved numerous infrastructure programs and processes to assist with district business such as TalentEd, Alio, and SchoolDude.  They also approved numerous summer capital projects across the district including gym floor refinishing, carpet replacement, and the construction of concession stands at the middle school football fields.  Finally, the BOE approved an updated contract for sale and purchase of 7 Parkway Blvd to be used as the USD 480 Central Office.
