Southwestern Heights Announces Valedictorian/Salutatorian

Southwestern Heights wishes to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating class of 2023.
Ryan Kisner, Principal, has announced Lucy Vajnar as valedictorian and Roxana Stone as salutatorian for the class of 2023. Lucy is the daughter of Jason and Kerri Vajnar and Roxy is the daughter of Jason and Sharla Arrington. These selections are based on the students’ cumulative grade point averages throughout high school.
Lucy has been involved in National Honor Society, where she serves as President, Volleyball, Scholars Bowl, Choir, FCCLA, where she serves as Treasurer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Basketball, Golf, and Track. She was also a delegate for Sunflower Girls’ State this past summer. She plans to attend Washburn University and major in Forensic Science.
Roxy has been involved in Student Council, where she serves as President, KAYS, National Honor Society, where she serves as Secretary/Treasurer, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FCCLA, and Band, where she also serves as President. Roxy is also the Senior Class President and was a delegate for Sunflower Girls’ State this past summer. She plans to attend Garden City Community College and major in Nursing with the goal of transferring and becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
Both students have worked hard over the past 4 years to maintain high grades, take dual-credit and outreach college classes, and also be involved in extra-curricular activities.
Southwestern Heights congratulates these students for their achievements and wishes them well in their future endeavors. Graduation will be on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Southwestern Heights High School.
