Southwest Medical Center Confirms No Individual Taken; Clarifies Misinformation Regarding Amber Alert

LIBERAL, KS- March 22, 2024 – Southwest Medical Center (SWMC) would like to address recent concerns regarding an alleged incident involving a minor.
On Thursday evening, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issued an Amber Alert for a minor, indicating a connection to our facility. We want to clarify that the child mentioned in the Amber Alert was not taken from Southwest Medical Center.
CEO Amber Williams emphasized SWMC’s commitment to safety, stating, “At Southwest Medical Center, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our patients and community. We have stringent safety protocols in place and work tirelessly to maintain a secure environment for all.”
